Melamine is a non-toxic material, which can be designed accordingly for wide use in foodservice industry.
This durable, break-resistant, non-toxic and heat-resistant product– melamine, used mainly by the foodservice industry, children's dinnerware set, hospitals, cruise lines, schools, correctional and buffets.
Melamine can withstand temperatures from 32°F to 220°F (0°C to 120°C).
Melamine is non-microwaveable, but dishwasher safe. (Highly recommanded for low temperature, top rack only.)
One way to test the quality of melamine is through its manufacturing
tolerances. When placed facing down onto a table, a well-crafted
melamine plate remains straight and flat, without a gap between
the table and the rim. Another way to test for good quality melamine is by inspecting the smoothness of its surface. A poorly crafted melamine plate will have a rough texture from mold damage. Often times, even if the exterior looks flawless, the interior may be inconsistent and structurally deficient. This may often cause breakage, bearing many liabilities. |
